On location with Stana by Mark Polish (x)
I tried on twelve wedding dresses over three days They needed to find something that would make sense with character that was believable, it’s kinda like her mother dress. It had to be romantic, it had to be elegant and classic in a way and I like all of that. I love the dress - Stana Katic (x)
Beckett + her mother’s ring : First and last appearance
Two totally completely different people
"I been working with this crew for six years, a lot of people are been here a whole time, so lot of these people are all in, to telling this stories and it makes day worth it, and is fun play’s with this people. These people end up becoming like a family, you know? Got a good group here they’re really wholesome and they’re… kind and they’re sweet. And so, I’m glad to be able to come to work with a lot of them.”
Castle x Beckett + an amazing season 6 → "The 70s Show"
"Don’t even go there, cupcake.”
Here is the video.
That was the best thing ever
It is, but having seen it a couple of times, I can see why the pulled it. Glad to have it now though.
True. Going from hot and heavy against the door to slow and sensual? I can see how it might be confusing. Maybe?
Not confusing. But it slows down the moment, and when you only have so many minutes, you want the moments with the most energy in the final cut.
Personally, I think it’s completely anticlimantic, badly lit and overall, I’m glad they pulled it. Seriously, really really glad. It lacks the energy of the final edit, the sense of wonder that leaves you hanging and also… I think the original scene, the one that made it to the final cut, is way hotter than this. Sorry, I’d prefer to watch the original cut + the beginning of After the Storm than seeing this scene in the ep.
Other than the lighting, which I think is consistent with the setup and the earlier scene, I agree. That moment needed the punch, the energy. This is the moment AFTER that energy, and it takes out the punch.
That said, I’m glad we have it as a deleted scene. I like having the knowledge in my head that in those moments they were soft and sweet and shy. That’s new infuriating I didn’t have before, and that makes me happy.
But yes, it was cut (save the bit of her touching his face which was edited into the final cut) for a reason. Definitely.
Also, I have to admit it, it goes completely against my headcanon of that night: I’ve always thought that their first round was one of those moments of fast, hurried, adrenaline-fuelled, life affirming kind of sex. That the second round was the sweet, slow and shy. And the third one in the shower, because there’s no way you can explain her hair in the beginning of After The Storm, if you don’t insert a shower somewhere during the night. That’s one tiny part of the larger number of reasons I didn’t like this scene much.
Liked the deleted scene, but can see why it was cut. The version we got was best for the episode. Glad we finally got to see it and hope they give us something similar in a future episode someday.
*Marlowe and Co are sitting there right now saying, “See…TRUST US!”* Yes it was “beautiful”, but the shift in energy was jarring. to go from almost breaking the door passion, to slow and sensual doesn’t flow very well.
A little bit, and it’s also a question of time. If you have these two segments of that moment, and you only have time in the episode for a certain amount of it, smart money is this is not the piece that gets to stay.
Yes. Trust the team. They know what they’re doing.
